Matthew got his yearbook at school today. They did a good job on it. Since this is his last year, we were given the privilege of paying for a special dedication. Ours had a big current picture of Matthew, a smaller picture from when he was 3, and a little blurb about how proud we were. Apparently I did it right, because there were no complaints.
One year I did get a complaint on the smaller dedication, but I can't remember what Matthew was unhappy about.
He did say his hair was too long in one of his pictures. After all the haircut battles we've had, I seriously want to clobber him.
Hurricane Ike got a page in the yearbook. That seems fair. Take 12 days of school, get a yearbook mention in return. There's a photo of the vice-principal and some students on a neighborhood street. She drove around and checked on some kids while the power was out. That's how we roll here.

All this time I thought it was Uncle Sam that took care of us. Where was my principal when I needed him. Sorry George W.
