School's Out

Matthew's last day of school was Friday. His report card was great and he passed the math TAKS, so all is well on the school front.

We have some science camp classes planned at the community college. We're also going to California (twice), Washington and the Bahamas. We also have company coming to our house. When you write all of that on the calender, summer is pretty much booked up.

It rained all three days of our Memorial Day holiday. Today, on Matthew's first real day of vacation, he's playing Lego Star Wars on the XBox. I have a grant meeting at his school (the committee never sleeps). Then we will go to the library and the grocery store. Matthew likes to go to the market's lunch counter, so we'll do that.

The 3 days of rain made the pool 77 degrees. Air temps are supposed to be in the 89/70 range this week, so that will bring the pool up over 80 again.

Today California made the paper here. You know those "happy" California cows in the commercials?
They're moving to Texas.

That's it for now.

Down the Home Stretch

This is Matthew's last week of school. This year definitely went by quickly.

His speech teacher recommended that he continue with therapy during the summer. She gave us a referral to a specialist who deals only with disfluency. I called and left a message today. Will let you know how it goes.

Pool Season Video

Pool Season

Pool season is open when the water temp is 80 degrees.

The key to a warm pool is that the lowest air temp needs to be 70 or above. The past few evenings have been warm, but it's expected to cool down to 61. That may suspend pool season next week. We'll see. Matthew may go in anyway.

Matthew got 2 teeth pulled on Friday. They're making room for other teeth. He's being fitted for an expander that will keep his teeth from crowding the new holes. We'll let you know how it goes.

School is almost over. Our summer calendar is filling fast. Make your reservations now.
